Vacation Post 01
I can’t promise there will be “Post 02″ but I thought I’d prepare, just in case. I realize I haven’t posted in some time, and since I’m sitting in Rehoboth checking my (55) emails and it’s overcast and breezy, I’d throw one up here.
I lived here and in Dewey Beach, DE, seven years ago. As a 19 year-old, I worked at a restaurant and an ice cream shop. While recent dreams of escapism have explored returning here for a life (a beach life, mind you), I’m not sure I could do it at this age.
My favorite activity while down here is taking my 2.5 mile walk on the beach, reading (both novels and magazines) and writing in my journal before bed. Things I could and should do at home, but I don’t. I’d like to think that if I moved here, I would be consistently inspired and would finally put together the pieces of the novels I hope to someday publish.
Enough about me. I’m back on Saturday, just in time for the Backyard Bash. No column next week, as I’m on vacation now and the Patriot is preferring Harriburg-area-only articles at this time.
Those of you who have written to me recently, I thank you, and I apologize I have not yet replied — I will. Keep the emails coming. I love to hear from you.

Sara, you know whats weird about your comment on the Patriot wanting only Harrsiburg related articles? I’d actually much rather read something about your vacation right now than something about this damn area. In fact, despite your Egypt writings being amazing, I’d rather read about Rehobeth than Egypt too….because its a place I will actually get to in my life time.
Enjoy the vacation!
BTW, I can’t spell Rehoboth, it’s the damn PSU education.
Thanks, E.
I know last year I covered some Dewey and Rehoboth nightlife spots, and I’ve covered OC, Md. countless times. Let me know if I can help you out if you’re taking a trip to either spot! Meanwhile, I’ll try to post again while down here.
Dear Sara,
I’ve been trying to work up the courage to ask you to dinner, but I have 20 lbs to lose, I live in a crappy apartment, and I have a receding hairline. Please advise on the best strategy.
Sincerely,
