Weekend roundup 8/29
It’s Kipona weekend! I’m kicking off my weekend with a birthday celebration at the St. Lawrence in Steelton, but Saturday morning, I’ll be joining Chief Chili on Riverfront Park for the 30th Annual Chili Cook-Off. We’re judging chili verde this year, which may be my favorite. Then … drum roll, please … my high school reunion (11th) at The Coliseum (not closed, I promise). Here is what else is going down over the last summer holiday.
- Art House Lounge has glass blowing demonstrations tonight from 5-9 p.m.
- Catch Central Jazz tonight at Suba, upstairs from Mangia Qui.
- Sunday, vote for your favorite painted fire hydrant in Shipoke. A reception from 4-6 p.m. follows for $5.
- It’s $20 ($30 for non-members) to sign up for HYP‘s co-ed flag football league, and you can do it online here.

Hey, I missed you at the chili cook off. What a fun day! I only found one stand with chili verde, but it was awesome. Definitely my favorite of the whole event. Hope you had a good time!
