**Congrats to Paul**
It’s no secret that Mangia Qui and Suba are two of my most recommended dining spots. A staple on North St., located in the shadows of the state capitol, the downstairs restaurant is frequented by lobbyists and politicians, celebrating couples, and local foodies alike. Upstairs at Suba, the focus is on interesting small plates and incredible cocktails. On weekends, catch performances by the area’s talented musicians.
I’ve mentioned it before, but I had such a response on my last visit that it bears repeating: Suba Happy Hour. Since last August, Suba has hosted a weekday Happy Hour benefiting a different local charity or nonprofit each month. This month is dedicated to the Bethel Heritage Trail Project.
From 5-7 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, indulge in half-price tacos (Two words: fish tacos. Order them. Now.) and $2 off Suba’s always impressive handcrafted cocktails.
Like all of the menus at Mangia Qui and Suba, the cocktail menu is updated seasonally. My recent favorite is the El Burro, made with Caba Wabo tequila, Thatcher’s organic cucumber liqueur, blueberries and ginger beer.
