This Sunday marks the 88th annual Academy Awards.

Oscar

Of all the award shows, The Oscars are probably the most exciting and offer the most variety in terms of enjoyment. Whether you prefer to nosh on popcorn at home with some rosé (what?), are a true movie buff, or just love to dish on red carpet style and after-party celeb gossip, there’s something for everyone.

Make it interactive

Take the Oscars Challenge! It’s free and fun — Share with your friends and track how everyone does.

Watch movies

Whitaker Center has been running an “Oscar-Winning Film Series” all month, featuring Oscar winning movies of years past, including Lawrence of Arabia, Wizard of Oz, Titanic, Chicago, Wall-E, and Interstellar.

You still have time to catch these Friday through Sunday. Buy tickets online or by calling the Whitaker Center Box Office at 717-214-ARTS (2787).

(uh, I just realized I haven’t seen even ONE of these films)

Check out the Just Watch app to find out which movies are streaming and through which services.

Midtown Cinema always runs the Shorts, but we’ve missed those. Instead you’ll want to attend their annual Oscar Party on Sunday.

Go to a party: Midtown Cinema and 704

Watch the 2016 Academy Awards on the big screen, complete with themed celebration. The Oscars Night Party at Midtown Cinema starts with a Red Carpet at 7 p.m. and ceremony at 8 p.m. Enjoy Oscar-themed refreshments from local restaurants and win prizes for guessing the winners.

»» Tickets are $35. Buy tickets online.

704 is hosting its 5th annual Oscar Party on Sunday as well. Dress up in your retro best — 704 will award prizes for most glamorous man, woman and couple. Light hors d’oeuvres will be served, and admission is free!

Drink in style

Note Wine Bar is offering themed cocktails on Oscar night!

Watch at home

I’ll be hunkering down in sweats with some G.H. Cretors popcorn and a glass or two of rosé (I know, I’m so predictable) or maybe a Jalapeño Pale Ale.
