RECAP: Pop-Up Happy Hour at Strawberry Square
Wednesday kicked-off the first in a series of Pop-Up Parties I’m throwing at Strawberry Square this summer. Each will be a bit different, with varying vendors (current, future tenants and other partners).
This “Counter Culture” themed event was focused around the Square’s Little Amps kiosk. Peter and crew were slinging coffee (P.S. Alton Brown was right; my new fave drink is a cortado) — and giving away samples of their “Pennsyltucky Coffee,” which was a take on a White Russian using Midstate Distillery’s corn whiskey, cold brew, some sweetness and topped with whipped cream.
Midstate Distillery also shared samples of their rum, vodka, whiskey and a rum-based coffee liqueur made with Little Amps coffee.
On the beer side, award-winning homebrew Karl Larson shared a few of his excellent brews, including Saison Slice, a saison brewed with oranges that we all went nuts over; a barrel-aged strong ale; and Catherine on Coffee, his famed Russian Imperial Stout on Little Amps beans.
We snacked on the most delicious tapenade and fresh cheeses, thanks to Chef Collier and the team at Bricco.
Meanwhile, Barrie at The Candy Store offered dessert treats of assorted chocolate and gummies (plus vouchers for popcorn!)
We’re already planning the next ones, so make sure you’re on our email list and subscribed to the events on Facebook so you don’t miss a thing!
