5 Can’t-Miss Live Music Shows This Fall
It is finally my favorite time of year — fall! As a pale Irish kid, direct sunlight and humid weather never have been kind to me. With summer’s hold slowly giving way to longer nights, cooler weather, hoodies, and pumpkin spice everything, I thought it would be a great time to look forward at some of the must-see shows coming up this fall.
Micah’s Must-See Fall Live Music Preview
Friday, Sept. 29 @ HMAC: End of Summer Blast featuring Hip Pocket
Harrisburg’s own collection of talented musicians put together a booty shakin, sing-a-long good time covering some of the funkiest jams with their own personal twist on it. Fueled by its high energy live performances and relentless pursuit of the perfect sound, join Hip Pocket as they take you back to another time when music was born of soul and style. The show starts at 9 p.m. and lasts all night long!
Monday, Oct. 2 @ The Underground Bike Shop: Young Mister + The Mobros
In a music scene that needs more venues, I was so excited to hear about live shows going down at The Underground Bike Shop on 3rd St. in Midtown Harrisburg. Stopping by Harrisburg in the middle of their “It’s Not Summer Anymore” tour, Young Mister’s self-titled debut album ebbs and flows from big band arrangements, such as the brass-filled, “The Best Part,” to the catchy and psychedelic, “Anybody Out There.”
Wednesday, Oct. 18 @ Chameleon Club: CKY
If this doesn’t take you 30-somethings back to a simpler time (you know, the early 00s) then I don’t know what will. CKY hails from West Chester, Pa. and has toured the world time and time again. I was fortunate enough to see these guys at Warped Tour this past summer for the first time ever and cannot wait to see them again as they pump out classic, skateboarding inspired rock n roll such as “99 Quiet Bitter Beings.” Tickets are on sale now and are just $18 in advance from Ticketfly.
Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 11-12 @ Spring Gate Vineyard: The Spring Gate Country Music Festival
For the third time this summer, Spring Gate Vineyard has a weekend lineup of great country music live at the vineyard! With local favorites, Mountain Road, hitting the stage at 12 p.m. on Saturday and the music continuing all the way until Hank Imhof closes out the festival Sunday at 7 p.m., it will be the perfect weekend to enjoy the beautiful vineyard with the leaves changing. Relax to some of the area’s best country music, beer, wine, and tasty fall ciders!
Saturday, Nov. 25 @ Freedom Hall Convention Center: Hollywood Undead w/ Butcher Babies
Had your fill of turkey and your Aunt Judy’s mystery casserole? Head down to Lancaster to get loud and heavy with Interscope recording artists Hollywood Undead and special guests Butcher Babies. I would suggest getting there early as lines to get into Freedom Hall can often be very long, and shows always start on time there. Tickets are only $25 and you can grab yours on Ticketfly today!
Here’s to the changing of the leaves, playoff baseball, crisp fall air, and some rockin’ local live music right in our own backyard!
Put on your favorite hoodie and head out to a show!
