Weekend roundup 10/14

After my lovely bridal shower last weekend, I'm ready to relax. I'm hoping up to catch up with my DVR, perhaps with a few girlfriends over wine and to finally paint my home office. I'm thinking a blue-ish green.

I was looking forward to catching the Steelers game at a friend's house on Sunday (I was even planning to bring peanut butter banana bread), but the stinky NFL won't let CBS 21 carry it here. So … it's either the radio or a bar. I like to watch the Steelers at Garrason's Tavern. What's your favorite spot to catch your team?

Two days remain to enter to win a $50 gift card to The FireHouse Restaurant.

Lots of Halloween events are starting to crop up, so be sure to keep those on your radar, if you're into tricks and treats. Read on for more:

Great list! I’ve got just one to add for anyone interested in international development; Remmy Hamapande, the Zambian Program Director of Mechanicsburg based Forgotten Voices will be in country this weekend and speaking Sunday at the West Shore Evangelical Free Church in Mechanicsburg, PA at 9am in Room 200A.
Remmy is an incredible person and I’d heartily recommend meeting him!

I’ve been living in the Harrisburg area for nearly six months and yours is the first blog I’ve found with anything interesting going on in the city. I’m absolutely bookmarking your site. Also, feel free to check out my blog, too, if you’re ever looking for a quick and tasty recipe. 🙂

Hi, Jen – Thanks, and welcome to the area! I’m so glad you found this. I update every week (sometimes more, rarely less). I also have a column in The Patriot-News every Friday (link is at the top of this page). If you ever have questions, feel free to ask!
