Introducing … Tierney!

Hey weekenders, many of you may already know Tierney Pomone from her Fashionista in Training blog or her active presence at micropubs and among Harrisburg’s Twitterati.

Tierney will be joining the team periodically to share her fashion insights and provide tips and tricks on staying fashion-forward in an area, well … let’s just say Harrisburg isn’t exactly known for its fashion community. Expect her to have smart advice that doesn’t pander to designers, but shows how regular, everyday people can scout out classic and statement pieces and always look put-together.

Let’s hear from Tierney in her own words:

Photo on 2011-07-08 at 17.00 #3 Born and raised right here in Harrisburg, I attended college at Mansfield University, I never thought I would come back home, or that I would ever even call Harrisburg home, but now I don’t think any other place would feel the same.

You’ll find me around town on both sides of the shore whether it be on Harrisburg’s Second Street or Bridge Street in New Cumberland.
I’m not one would call a ‘foodie,’ but rather my tastes are more geared towards what I’m drinking. I’m a craft beer kind of girl, so if there’s something new on tap, expect to find me sipping away at would could be my new favorite brew.
I like to scour Twitter, Facebook, and good old word-of-mouth to find the latest beer releases and tickle my palate, and I have been known to compare what I’m tasting to bubblegum, soy sauce, dog biscuits (yes, I’m serious), and Pepperoni Pizza Combos.

When I’m not on a quest for the Holy Grail of beer, I write about fashion. You’re not going to see much ‘off the runway’ nonsense from me, but rather ways that you can incorporate seasonal trends into your every day life. My parents should have known when I had 20 pairs of shoes at age 14 that I was a fashionista in training. I love giving advice, love the thrill of making a new outfit and can’t wait to share what fashion ideas I have brewing in my head with everyone else.

I don’t take most things very seriously and enjoy laughing my face off with friends. I’ll try just about anything once, and I always enjoy a challenge. My role-models are Beyonce and Carrie Bradshaw. That should fill you in on what’s going on upstairs.
