BEER ALERT: Bozich Black IPA

Remember back in January when I spent a whole day brewing a beer with Artie at the Camp Hill location of Appalachian Brewing Co.?

Artie and I had been talking for years about doing a beer, and we finally found the time to get together and brew a Black IPA. This Black IPA is part of a Black Beer Series the brewery is releasing on March 7, also featuring a Black Rye IPA and a Schwartzbier.

Naturally, I’m hosting a release party at ABC Camp Hill, where I’ll make the first pour, have the first sample — and then serve the first pint. I’ll even stick around and guest-bartend for a bit. The release hits at 6 p.m., so get in before then if you can. More info on Facebook.

Bozich Black IPA

OG 15 | FG 2.8 | ABV 6.51 | IBUs 88

Our Bozich Black IPA is the first in a series of Guest Brewed Beers! Sara Bozich is a weekly columnist for the Patriot News.  Her passion is to bring to light all of the magnificent offerings the Harrisburg area can provide. She believes that shopping, eating and brewing local makes a difference and that promoting our community can only make it stronger. Her IPA is a lot like her…bold and delicate. The use of Black malt provides just enough roast to match the mouth feel of the Cara malt. The nose and bitterness come from three classic hops; Pilgrim, Zeus and Nugget.
